Exercising regularly can do great things for your overall health. You know this, right? But traveling, whether for business or pleasure. Here are 6 Ways to Work out While You Travel

Hotel Room Exercise

When you are traveling, whether for business or pleasure, there is no excuse for you to stop working out just because you're travelling or you’re far away from your home.

Let’s say. You’re out of town and far away from your daily surroundings, but that doesn't mean that you have to take a break from your fitness or daily workouts.

One of the best experience i have encountered while on traveling is that working out while on the road is a great way to explore the area you're visiting. Trust me you will enjoy doing your workouts more than ever. 

My experience with workouts while on traveling made me to enjoy more when we visited various places.

Here's how to get a good workout while you’re on Travel

1. Add Your Workout plans in Your Itinerary

Just before you do anything else, you have to prioritize your working out while on vacation. Determine when you will work out before you leave by preparing your daily schedule. 

Let’s say, you’re taking a business trip, the first thing to do is glance at your itinerary and determine when you’ll be able to fit in your workouts ahead of time. If it’s a trip for fun, tell your friends or family knows that you plan on getting in a few workouts during your stay. It will let them know your plans and help keep you accountable.

2. Include your workout accessories on your bag 

Set yourself up for your traveling workouts by packing more strategically than normal. After you’ve packed all your outfits, take out one pair of dress shoes and replace it with a pair of tennis shoes. It will encourage you to work out and act as a not-so-subtle reminder when you open your suitcase upon arrival: you need to make time to move!

3. Take Advantage of Hotel Resources

In today’s hotels one of the essential or common things they have is an indoor Gym for their guest to enjoy while staying there on their vacations. If you’re staying in a hotel with an indoor Gym it will encourage you to do your workouts as you’re traveling.

Swimming can be excellent exercise, and even a short amount of time using the resistance of the water will help burn calories and work multiple muscle groups.

4. Workout in Your Hotel Room

Some time you may feel extra pressed while your vacation, you don’t even need to leave your suite to get your sweat on these days. You can try out simple workout exercises while your inside your room.

These days there are lots of mobile apps that can guide you to do workouts even if you’re in your room.

Do push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, strength training, jumping jacks, jogging in place, and other basic moves to work your muscle groups, stretch, and get your heartbeat up

5. Do some Jogging

There are many mobile apps that you can download to help you map running a route, but start with a Google search the area and see what routes are listed online. Through running you can explore more the area you are visiting and enjoy the experience of the town you’re traveling.

6. Walk Instead of taking a Ride 

Do you really need to take a ride somewhere five blocks away? No. You don’t. Just walk and burn some calories. Unless you’re on a time crunch, it’s late at night, you have an impending physical condition, or you’re in an unsafe neighborhood, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to just walk instead of always taking a vehicle.


Traveling can be an excellent opportunity to try new exercises; but do not go beyond your comfort limit. If you are unsure how to perform an exercise safely, skip it in favor of an exercise you can perform without risk of injury. 

Getting injured while traveling can ruin your trip and become a hassle if healthcare and insurance reimbursements are necessary, so staying safe when out of town is essential.
