Dare to See beyond the Norm

Struggling is real especially in your early 20's just after you have completed college. It all begins by parents withdrawing their financial support. Of course they have bigger dreams than filling the pockets of a fellow grown up.

It is worse if you are the first born. Your shoulders get slapped with the weight of the whole world. As the parents strive to live their long dead dreams in you, the siblings look up to you for a role model.

Not to mention their burdens that become yours whenever parents turn a cold shoulder.

Two months after graduation the thirst for money gets real. At this point you have already used up all the donations that you received on the big day and accumulated a handsome amount in debts. You cannot even afford a full day with your phone on because it will literally ‘burst’.

Everybody in your contact list wants to know if you have any plans at all for repaying their money. You spend long days in the internet searching for potential companies to offer you work and after sending several emails, you begin to move from one office to another to emphasize your desperation.

After sending a thousand emails with no single response, you succumb to the pressures of joblessness and join multi-level marketing. This is where you learn that they require 300$ for your ‘startup’ because three months down the line they will have made you a millionaire.

Your imagination begins to run wild and within no time you can already visualize yourself in Miami, Sydney beaches, or the most obvious destination, Dubai.

Out of ignorance, you get one more last loan and part with it for the ‘golden opportunity’.

The bits of your life that were still in order begin to go south at this point. Of course there is nothing less to expect after opening the gates of hell.

You begin to roam in town every day from morning to evening for the next few months without acquiring any recruits for the ‘food-chain’. Realistically, marketing is not for the fainted hearted.

It gets worse when you approach just anyone with sweaty armpits, frowned face, dry barely kempt hair, tired eyes, and an empty stomach.

This is the obvious definition of low level multi-level marketers. Just look at their shoes. You will get a much worse impression. No one tells you to throw in the towel.

It gets to a point where the circumstances are no longer bearable. All your rip is a wrinkled face and a broken heart.

Although this is the norm for many, there is value in looking at life differently. How about leaving school with an open mind or even better staring to put things in order while you are still in school?

How about using even the smallest opportunities in life to grow yourself and others?

For example, you can join volunteer programs after high school and by the time you are done with college someone somewhere will have spotted your potential.

Life is what you make it. Live and let live.
